Online Screening and Q&A: “For Estefani, Third Grade, Who Made Me a Card” with Director Jordan Bruner
Guests Expected
Director Jordan Bruner is expected to participate in an online Q&A following the screening.
Description
In Jordan Bruner’s beautifully animated interpretation of Aracelis Girmay’s poem For Estefani, Third Grade, Who Made Me A Card, a poet receives a card with a cryptic message from a third grader. What she uncovers is a perfect little moment of beauty. This animation is part of the TED-Ed series There’s a Poem for That, which features animated interpretations of poems both old and new that give language to some of life’s biggest feelings.
Join us following the screening for an insightful and educational Q&A with director and animator Jordan Bruner to learn about the making of the film and how artists can add imagery to lyrical poetry. Jordan will also be leading a interactive creativity lesson with live drawing that attendees can follow along with at home.
Recommended for ages 5 and up.
