Online Filmmaker Q&A: “The Trip to Greece” Director Michael Winterbottom
Event Recording
Guests Expected
Director Michael Winterbottom is expected to participate in an online Q&A.
Description
Join us as we revisit the delightful Trip series from filmmaker Michael Winterbottom and actors Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon on the occasion of the online release of their final outing, The Trip to Greece, and present an in-depth conversation with Winterbottom.
The celebrity impersonations, constant attempts at one-upmanship, and hunger-inducing restaurant visits return in the fourth feature incarnation of the spirited collaboration between director Michael Winterbottom (The Claim, Festival 2000) and performers Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan. After forays through England’s Lake Country, Italy, and Spain, Coogan and Brydon are ready for a hero’s voyage; specifically, they will be following in the footsteps of Odysseus on his trek from Troy to Ithaca. Travelling from such classic locations as the Temple of Apollo at Delphi to the island of Hydra, the two continue their wide-ranging conversation, incorporating bits of literature, philosophy, and history, and prove once again to be most entertaining travel companions. The Trip to Greece was originally scheduled to screen as part of the 2020 SFFILM Festival.
You can catch up on all three of the previous Trip films now with a free trial of IFC Films Unlimited on Amazon Prime Channels, prior to the online release of The Trip to Greece on May 22. Our conversation with director Michael Winterbottom will cover all four films.
