Astronomy: Asteroid

Description

In what the head of NASA called the “first planetary defense test,” the agency’s DART mission successfully smashed into and changed the path of an innocuous asteroid called Dimorphos. The test suggests the strategy could be replicated in the future if an asteroid were headed toward Earth.
