Description

These are viruses – i.e., chemical molecules, not biological organisms– that contain more genomic material (larger amount of evolutionary coding information) than many biological microorganisms. They almost exist between what is considered life (biology, with lots of heritable information) and molecules (chemistry, because they are not able to self sustain). They give us deeper insights into the origins of life
