San Francisco, CA — San Francisco has always been a global city on the edge of what’s next. The storied history and dynamic present of this global city by the Bay has long represented new trends, new ideas, and new revolutions of thought, creativity, and innovation. Therefore, it makes sense that SFFILM also represents what’s next in global film, creativity, storytelling and innovation.
While the SFFILM Festival is the longest running film festival in the Americas, the organization actually represents much more that 15-day event. From SFFILM’s robust year-round public programming, to its groundbreaking artist development initiatives, to innovative education programs and a new curated film streaming service, the SFFILM organization is constantly on the edge of what’s next in terms of storytelling in today’s multimedia world. To bring these dynamic aspects of the brand to life, SFFILM proudly partnered with SF brand experience design firm MuseBrands to develop the organization’s new visual identity, branding system, as well as the integrated marketing campaign for this year’s milestone 60th anniversary Festival.
“As a result of the rapid growth in our year-round programming in recent years, we have increasingly faced the challenge of how to effectively represent the breadth and scope of our diverse initiatives,” said SFFILM’s Executive Director Noah Cowan. “We were delighted to work with MUSE to help us accomplish this goal in a bold and fresh manner. They have always done excellent creative work for us and we are excited to share this new look and brand system with our audiences.”
With the new SFFILM logo mark, which launched on March 15, 2017, the organization has established a branded family of programs which includes SFFILM Festival, SFFILM Presents, SFFILM Education and SFFILM Makers. This new brand system reflects SFFILM’s year-round programming designed to support storytelling and creativity in all its forms. As SFFILM expands its offerings, it now has a compelling new branding system which supports a bold new vision for creativity in San Francisco—and beyond.
