13 Apr
Sat, Apr 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm PT

Description

Join a special guest filmmaker Andrew ‘Goldy’ Goldsmith for a behind-the-scenes look Oscar-shortlisted Lost & Found and the innovative filmmaking behind it that utilizes one of the oldest crafts in cinema: stop-motion animation. Goldy will take participants through the dizzying amount of labor and love put into producing the film. Four years in the making, the production saw a full size restaurant custom built as a modular set for stop motion filming, several hand crafted puppets that were purpose built for different animation situations and even a working sushi train was completely disassembled for hand animating.

Participants in the workshop will learn the tips and tricks of hand-crafting a visually stunning work of animation. Kids will then have the opportunity to explore and learn some basic principles of stop-motion animation in a guided hands-on activity.

Total running time 120 min. This is a drop-off class for kids aged 10-14.
