Description

Illustrator and painter Tove Jansson created the globally beloved Moomins children’s books about an adorable family of trolls that resemble hippopotami and were inspired by her own life and family. She was also a free-spirited bisexual artist who believed life was an amazing adventure. With Alma Poysti as the irrepressible title character, this lively biographical portrait depicts the remarkable breadth of this woman’s life, particularly her affair with Vivica, a wealthy mayor’s daughter, with whom she collaborates on a play that brings the Moomins to life.
