Description
This moving drama employs a dual storyline to portray life in Lagos, Nigeria, one of the most populous cities in the world. Two protagonists dream of emigration – factory repairman Mofe hopes to move to Spain, while bartender and hairdresser Rosa has her eyes set on Italy. Twin-brother writer-directors Arie and Chuko Esiri create a vivid portrait of a teeming metropolis and the challenges facing those attempting to flee it.
A native of Warri, Nigeria, Arie Esiri studied screenwriting and directing at Columbia University School of the Arts. He works in advertising, as a director and producer of commercials. He previously made the short film, Goose (2017), co-directed by his twin brother, Chuko.
Chuko Esiri received his MFA in Screenwriting and Directing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Among his work are two shorts, Goose (2017, co-directed by his brother, Arie, and Besida (2018).
