Learning about family and culture through ‘Pangu’

Based on the ancient Chinese creation myth, Pangu is a modern tale about parenthood and the differences between generations. Pangu creates a rigid world of angular shapes, but there’s just one problem: his son sees the world as curves. A screening of this film may compliment a curriculum in World Cultures, Asian American Studies, or Social Studies. Taught in conjunction with this guide, this film will encourage students to think about other culture’s creation myths, and open their mind to new ways of thinking about Chinese culture.

Learning about not to judge a book by its cover through ‘The Big Bad Fox & Other Tales’

The Big Bad Fox & Other Tales is a hand drawn animated film following a group of misfit barnyard animals. Their absurd situations and lively pace will bring back memories of the zaniest Looney Tunes cartoons. But don’t be fooled. Beneath its light-hearted surface lies its emotional core.
