A personal story of grief, those we look up to, and how the interactions we may deem insignificant may play a huge part in how we live our lives. This beautiful animated short, is director Camrus Johnson’s gift to his grieving father and a message to all to cherish every second you have with loved ones while you still can.
Join us following the screening for an insightful and educational Q&A with director/producer Camrus Johnson to learn about the making of this very personal film and how the use of storytelling can help artists as well as their audience heal and process during particularly challenging periods in their lives.
Recommended for ages 7 and up.
This special online event, hosted by SFFILM Education, has been put together with children, parents, and teachers in mind. It is also free and open to the public. Attendees who RSVP for this event will be sent a link via email one day in advance to register for the online session, which will be conducted with Zoom. We recommend that you download and install Zoom on your computer or mobile device in advance, and set yourself up with a free account. Attendees will have a chance to participate in the Q&A by sending in questions privately to our moderator. Registration closes around one hour before the start of the event — be sure to register early!

Camrus Johnson is primarily a film and television actor who began acting at the age of 15 in his high school theater. He moved to New York in 2012 and has since begun his professional career as an entertainer. His main focus is his acting career but he also sings, song-writes, dances, models, and most recently had his stand-up comedy debut. His acting career has recently taken off with the leading male role of Luke Fox in The CW’s newest series Batwoman and he has officially made his animation/directing debut with Grab My Hand: A Letter to My Dad.
