2026 SFFILM Festival Cashier

Summary

SFFILM is hiring Festival Box Office Cashiers for our upcoming 2026 San Francisco International Film Festival (April 24-May 4, 2026.) Cashiers are the first point of contact for patrons at all venues and screenings at the SFFILM Festival. They will be responsible for providing a warm and welcoming first impression for guests. Cashiers will be provided with paid training in our ticketing system and customer service basics.

This is an hourly, temporary role onsite at the Festival from April 24 – May 4, 2026, with some training scheduled for the week prior to the Festival. 

Hourly rate: $20/hour, eligible for overtime. All staff of the SFFILM Festival also receive a year-long SFFILM membership and other ticketing benefits during the festival.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell and scan tickets at various Festival box office locations
  • Answer frequently asked questions
  • Sell available tickets to the Rush Queue before screenings
  • Collaborate with Venue Management to create a positive and efficient experience for festival goers
  • Process exchanges or refunds
  • Answer general festival questions and address customer service needs

Qualifications:

  • Background in hospitality or a public-facing/customer service oriented job
  • Confident learning new systems quickly
  • Experience with various technologies and systems/databases is a plus, as well as basic math skills.
  • Positive attitude in high stress and high volume situations
  • The ability to problem solve, and if unsure to ask for help
  • Flexibility with changing priorities
  • Capability to retain information in different formats (written, verbal, etc.)

Preference may be given to candidates in the Oakland and Berkeley areas, as we are especially looking to hire for our festival location at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive.
