Description

A new patient triggers a psychotherapist’s obsessions in this psychological thriller. An aspiring writer, Sibyl (Virginie Efira) follows actress Margot (Adèle Exarchopoulos) to a remote island movie set under the guise of treatment. But, really, she aims to observe the young woman’s romantic travails for artistic fodder, crossing more than ethical boundaries as she enmeshes herself in Margot’s world. Efira’s fearless performance as a woman undone by memories of her past and her own transgressions adds an erotic jolt to Justine Triet’s provocative third feature.

“Providing a welcome female viewpoint on a genre that’s been all-too often tackled by men… Sibyl is at once a sultry, suspense-ridden drama, and, like the director’s previous features, the frenzied profile of a woman juggling professional and personal needs with extreme difficulty.” –Jordan Mintzer, The Hollywood Reporter
