Child For Sale
At just 17, Fiona Bock has already dedicated five years of her life to bring awareness to human trafficking, the tragic form of modern-day slavery that shockingly still occurs here in the United States. With unique access to trafficked children, the film sensitively captures their stories and humanizes the topic. (Fiona Bock, USA 2016, 13 min)
This is a Cinema by the Bay film.

Domar: To Tame
This portrait of a Uruguayan horse tamer and instructor presents his passion for his vocation with gorgeous imagery, insightful narration and a lilting guitar score. In Spanish with English subtitles. (Benjamin Ades, USA/Uruguay 2015, 7 min)

Elliot
A tale of an elephant that learns to see the colors in life is told through deceptively simple animation, 1,600 individually hand-drawn frames to be exact. This subtle film packs a powerful emotional punch. (Dennis Kim, South Korea/USA 2015, 13 min)

Fragile
Artist Gil Batle was raised in San Francisco and spent 20 years of his life in five different California prisons where his artistic abilities protected him from violence. He now finds sanctuary and solace on an island in the Philippines where he uses his talents to carve haunting images onto ostrich eggs. (Nilo Batle, USA 2015, 9 min)
This is a Cinema by the Bay film.

From My Head to Hers
This touching and visually stunning documentary follows the director’s personal experience of donating 14 inches of her hair, through the nonprofit Wigs for Kids, to a young girl who has lost all of her own to alopecia. The journey provides proof that true beauty comes from within. (Maria Alvarez, USA 2015, 21 min)

I Don’t Belong Here
This evocative narrative expertly uses imagery to visually bring to life the struggles of a teen with bipolar disorder. (Cameron Hudson, USA 2015, 4 min)

Lucky Numbers
A young man steals a winning lottery ticket and claims $50 million. His decision comes back to haunt him with surprising and hilariously absurd results. Director Chester Milton displays some seriously developed comedy chops and also scored something of a coup for such a young filmmaker by securing a supporting role from veteran TV and film actor John O’Leary (Car 54, Where Are You?, Airplane, All The President’s Men). (Chester Milton, USA 2015, 10 min)

Run, Run Away
A high school track star doesn’t want to deal with the realities of her relationships with her family or friends. She tries to run from them, but life follows her. (Ruby Rae Drake, USA 2015, 8 min)
This is a Cinema by the Bay film.
