Description
An abandoned telephone booth calls out to 10-year-old Risa. After a tragic fire devastates their small town, residents take to calling the dead on an out-of-order telephone high atop a hill. But only Risa can hear the voices from the other side. Hoping to finally contact her mysterious father somewhere in this crowd of impatient spirits, she starts to take on the unfinished business of departed loved ones. Continuing a game of chess, locating life insurance policies, and finding a new home for a lost dog all become part of Risa’s daily to-do list. Biographies
Born in Argentina, Juan Cabral wrote and directed Gorilla, a TV advertisement for Cadbury voted ‘Favorite Ad of All Time’ in a UK poll. He’s created ads for Sony, Ikea, and Apple, among others, his work garnering over 25 Cannes Lions, two Cannes Grand Prixes, and two Directors Guild of America, USA nominations. He made his feature directing debut with Two/One (2019). Risa and the Wind Phone is his second feature.
