Description

A young shepherd takes a fateful journey that will forever alter his perception of the world in this haunting and deeply affecting drama. Achraf and his cousin Nizar venture far from home in search of water, a trek that becomes a nightmare when Mujahideen forces attack them. Only Achraf is spared, left to return home with a warning to their village. Director Lotfi Achour, along with co-writers Doria Achour and Sylvain Cattenoy, crafts a harrowing meditation on trauma, survival, and the generational impact of violence. Achraf is too young to process the horrors he’s endured, yet he’s forced to witness their ripple effects as his family mourns and struggles for justice. Anchored by Ali Hleli’s captivating performance in the central role, Red Path offers a stark, unflinching look at a boy caught in the crosshairs of terror, grief, and an uncertain future. —Amir George

Warning: This film presents a graphic act of violence towards a child.
