Description

A photographer (Ed Harris at his grumpy best), his nurse (Elizabeth Olsen), and his estranged music businessman son (Jason Sudeikis) warily embark on a road trip to Kansas. They intend to drop off dad’s final four mysterious rolls of Kodachrome film at the last remaining processing lab in America, as it is about to close its doors. A paean to all things artistic and analog, with photography and music references galore, the film begins as an awkward reunion and ends in warm-hearted reconciliation, with charming romance and gentle philosophy freely flowing along the way.

Kodachrome provides an impressive vehicle for distinguished stage and screen veteran Ed Harris as a famed photojournalist facing terminal liver cancer with a few undeveloped rolls still in his possession. The real surprise here though is Jason Sudeikis, following on a strong run of comedies to deliver an outstanding, career-defining dramatic performance that will make the film a highly attractive addition to a thoughtfully curated specialized slate.” – Justin Lowe, The Hollywood Reporter
