Description

An action film with a moral message, Just 6.5 delves into the nooks and crannies of a Tehran drug bust, following cops and criminals alike. It begins with a thrilling foot chase through Tehran’s back alleys as narcotics detective Samad (Payman Maadi, A Separation) attempts to trace a dropped bag of dope back to drug lord Nasser. But discerning good and evil here is not so easy in Roustaee’s ruthless and probing film, where topical matters sit comfortably alongside a visual sensibility that rivals Mann or Scorsese.

“Tautly shot and edited by a top-flight technical crew and notably scored by Peyman Yazdanian, Just 6.5 is more than a thrilling watch. It is a sobering reflection on the inability of the law to stem the tide of drug addiction through round-ups, arrests, and executions.” –Deborah Young, The Hollywood Reporter
