Description

Ali El Arabi’s rousing feature documentary debut focuses on the deep and enduring friendship between Syrian teens Fawzi and Mahmoud, whose passion and talent for soccer provides a crucial escape from life in a Jordanian refugee camp. Vibrant scenes of life within the camp, refreshingly honest and tender moments of the pair sharing thoughts of first love and girls, and candid conversations with their families paint a nuanced and affecting portrait of courage, humor, and love within challenging and oppressive conditions. Recommended for ages 11 and up.
