Description

Severance’s Britt Lower stars as Julia, a young woman whose online shopping habit takes an alarming turn in this quirky thriller. Fired three weeks ago and now three weeks sober, Julia fills her endless days with internet buying sprees. But then boxes start to arrive that contain uncomfortably personal items that she didn’t order. Enlisting the help of delivery driver Charlie (David Dastmalchian), Julia tries desperately to discover who the sender is, and how whoever it is could know her exact shade of lipstick. The search sends her spiraling down a paranoid rabbit hole, as the packages keep piling up. Russell Goldman’s debut feature, produced by Sender costar Jamie Lee Curtis, is a wildly imaginative send-up of our infatuation with online shopping and a disturbing commentary on what can happen when personal details become company knowledge. Rhea Seahorn also stars. —Amber Love
