2026 SFFILM Festival Cashier
Summary
SFFILM is seeking an Office Move Project Manager who will oversee and execute all aspects of the SFFILM office move from our current location in SOMA to our new space in the Presidio. Working closely with the SFFILM Office Manager and the Operations and Executive team to understand the needs and priorities of moving into this new space, this role will be tasked with ownership of the main aspects of this physical move. This will include creating a timeline, managing inventory, hiring moving help, and communicating with current staff about any information or tasks related to the move, such as collecting and distributing keys.
SFFILM’s San Francisco International Film Festival takes place April 24 – May 4, 2026, so this position is expected to work independently while much of the staff are focused on executing this event. This position will also be working with key members of the Festival Operations team to collaborate on specific moves and timelines in relation to the Festival.
This is a temporary position with an anticipated start date in late March and an end date of June 15, 2026. This position is paid hourly at the rate of $25 per hour. Estimated hours are between 24-40 hours per week. Through March and April there is more flexibility with hours, with anticipated full-time work starting in May. This role will report directly to the Office and Administrative Manager.
Application Review begins March 18 and will be rolling after that.
Responsibilities
Inventory and Moving
- Create and oversee a comprehensive timeline for all aspects of the physical move to our new office space.
- Lead the creation of a comprehensive inventory of all SFFILM owned items, gear, furniture, artwork, production supplies, and equipment.
- Confirm inventories of Ninth Street Fund LLC furniture or equipment and determine strategies for tracking these items through to our departure.
- Execute a detailed plan for packing of any fragile art, both to storage and to new offices.
- Support Office Manager in researching storage solutions, balancing priorities around distance, price, security, flexibility.
- Manage the hiring of movers, whether a company or individuals, including booking Uhauls or other vehicles as necessary.
- Coordinate multiple moves to different spaces on different timelines (eg, moving into the new office space in waves, sending other inventory to separate storage spaces including Clutter offsite storage), clearly tracking what inventory is moving where and when.
- Manage large scale trash and recycling needs, such as scheduling Recology pickups.
- Manage the procurement of any needed packing materials.
- Work closely with Festival Lounge,Events, and Production teams to share inventory management responsibilities through Festival and load out.
- Work closely with the Office Manager and Operations team to lead staff-wide communications regarding move timelines, packing needs, item returns, and other information as needed.
- Work closely with Office Manager to manage all key access, including tracking the return of current office keys and the distribution of new office keys.
- Support acquisition of furniture for new offices.
- Support set-up of storage materials, furniture and IT needs for new Offices.
Timelines and Project Management
- Research, propose to SFFILM Staff, engage and manage external vendors to support all physical movements as necessary and within budget.
- Draft and oversee timeline for all SFFILM Staff movement of personal items and Support IT installation and set -up within the move timeline in collaboration with Logicflare and Office Manager.
- Draft and oversee timeline for building walkthroughs, cleaning and repairs.
- Map timelines for any packing or de-installation of fragile art or technical equipment hanging from or affixed to 455 Ninth street walls or furniture, including identifying restoration needs for the building post removal.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated project management experience, including managing timelines to completion with limited supervision, but excellent proactive communication.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while still understanding when to escalate and include others.
- Pro-active problem solving skills, especially working within a limited budget.
- Ability to support the physical movement of materials, including the ability to easily lift 50 pounds.
- Must be comfortable driving large vehicles around San Francisco.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record required – offer of this position will be contingent on approval by SFFILM’s insurance.
