SFFILM
San Francisco, CA — The San Francisco Film Society has announced an array of programs included in its 2015 Fall Season, featuring a bevy of concentrated festivals spotlighting international cinema and a brand-new documentary showcase spotlighting the nonfiction films sure to define this year’s awards season. Doc Stories is the newest addition to the Film Society’s Fall Season lineup, which this year also includes the highly anticipated return of its annual explorations of new work from the French-speaking world, Hong Kong, Italy and Taiwan. The season kicks off in mid-October with Taiwan Film Days, and culminates in a delightfully packed November schedule with daily offerings for movie lovers of all tastes.
In addition to these public screening programs, the SFFS Education department will be hosting a series of programs for young Bay Area students that will connect them with visiting and local filmmakers, artists and film technicians to highlight media literacy, celebrate world citizenship and explore the art and craft of contemporary cinema. Beginning this month with the The Art & Science of Lucasfilm, educational activity will continue at each Fall Season festival with filmmaker visits to classrooms, in-theater presentations and more.
Announcements with complete details about each program, including ticket on-sale dates, will be made in the coming weeks; visit sffs.org for more information.
